He's a Boy!
Human?
It's a boy!
. . . but they didn't specifically say that it was human. We got lucky with our first child, but we're still waiting for them to tell us that this is inconclusively a human male baby.
My wife and I went a few days ago for our sonogram. We got to see some amazing things. It's always a blessing to be able to look inside and see some first pictures of the baby.
My wife cried a month previous when we went and listened to the baby's heartbeat. It was nice to hear and know that there was a living baby growing inside her, but a whooshing sound doesn't really affect me that much. The sonogram is much different. You can actually see the baby and all its parts.
It's a boy!
Happily, their sonogram machine allowed us to bring in a tape to record the baby. Feel free to listen to the heartbeat, see sonogram pictures, and watch a couple sonogram videos at our baby's webpage. I'm warning you now, though, that each video is 2MB, and this server's upload bandwidth is not incredibly amazing. You have been warned.
One thing, though: Why do we always say "It's a boy!" or "It's a girl!"? Shouldn't it really be "He's a boy!" and "She's a girl!"?
