The ACLU Loves Killing Babies
ACLU
You might remember an article I wrote in March titled "The U.N. Loves Killing Babies." Well, this is no secret, but the ACLU has yet again proved that they love killing babies.
According to news stories, a 13-year-old girl, who is a ward of the state, became pregnant when she ran away from a state-licensed group home. In Florida, at least, that's statutory rape.
Since the state is her guardian, the guardian would not give permission for an abortion. After all, there's a state statute that says "In no case shall the department consent to sterilization, abortion or termination of life support." It seems fairly straight-forward to me. For some odd reason, however, Florida also has a law that says that minors can elect to have an abortion. Thus, we have conflicting laws, and another court challenge.
I'm not sure if this is an attempt at a public relations save due to the recent Schiavo court challenges, but after a Palm Beach state court ruled that the girl could have an abortion, the state quickly dropped the case.
Jeb Bush made a wonderful statement:
It's a tragedy that a 13-year-old child would be in a vulnerable position where she could be made pregnant and it's a tragedy that her baby will be lost. There's no good news in this at all.
The only issue I have with the statement is that he should have said the baby will be killed, not lost. But it's politics, and that's how it goes.
Keeping to their true colors, the ACLU of Florida said "The pattern is the state's hostility to the exercise of personal freedom."
Remember, the ACLU focuses on only one of "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
Also, to summarize, if you're 13 in Florida, you can't say yes to sex, but you can say yes to killing your baby. Interesting. One more reason not to move down to the geriatric state.
