Post-Blogathon: Finally Rested!

30 July 2006

Blogathon spike!

Finally, the Blogathon ended and I was able to crash hard for a few hours. That was refreshing!

As you can see from the picture, there was plenty of traffic during the Blogathon. The other bloggers were quite supportive and fun, particularly in the IRC chat room, where we kept each other awake and entertained.

Also, there's proof that the Blogathon crowd is a smart crowd: Instead of the usual 65/25 ratio between IE/Firefox, the ratio during the Blogathon was 30/65! Cool beans.

Status: I'm finally rested. I obviously missed church this morning, but I'll be headed out to an evening service at our family camp tonight.

Google Analytics

10 May 2006

I finally received an invitation to Google Analytics!

Google Analytics, much like Performancing Metrics, tells you about how your visitors found you and how they interact with your site.

Google Analytics is on a "sign up and wait" system in order to keep their servers under control. Finally, my number came up.

For many, this allows marketing masterminds to "focus their marketing resources on campaigns and initiatives that deliver ROI, and improve their site to convert more visitors." For me, it just lets me pour over statistics, which I love to do.

Besides, it's always nice to know that people sometimes actually visit the site and read it and click links.

53 Turns Half a Year Old!

5 July 2005

At 02:38:17 today, 53 officially turned 6 months old. For the non-Gregorians out there, that's half a year.

Happy half-birthday to me!

I Have Been Counted

28 June 2005

Take the MIT Weblog SurveyTake the MIT Weblog Survey

I have taken the "MIT Weblog Survey," and will therefore be included in whatever information they pull out of the survey. The survey is "a general social survey of weblog authors."

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete, and they are asking anyone with a blog to participate. The larger the sample of individuals they get, the better the results, of course.

So, if you're bored, take the survey. It doesn't even hurt that much. Or don't take the survey. Fine! Be that way!

Popularity Contest

14 June 2005

53in0gravityAm I popular?

It's all just a popularity contest.

Each post now has its own Popularity Rating, shown as a percentage. All posts are given a score based on views (and the type of view) and feedback. The most popular post on the blog has the highest score and a rating of 100%, and all other blogs display have their rating based on the percentage of points in comparison.

Any questions? Too bad.

May 2005 Statistics

1 June 2005

May was 53's fourth full month online. The site's traffic increased over 22% from last month, possibly due to increasing the number of posts by 50%.

Good ol' Tomahawk harassed me about not posting on a daily basis, so I started posting a bit more regularly . . . but to teach him a lesson, it wasn't daily. 1754's referral performance this month made a pitiful nosedive, dropping 63% in the past month! Tsk tsk!

The standard Numa Numa post continues its reign as top dog, but it has been losing momentum compared with other posts. Some day, perhaps, we will see see Gary drop out of first place. Or maybe not.
